Rendezvous for the 17th edition in Montreal<\/em>
\nAugust 28 to October 14, 2024 at Bonsecours Market<\/em><\/h4>\n

Montreal, October 16, 2023\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0For its 16th edition in Montreal, the World Press Photo Montreal exhibition<\/strong>\u00a0welcomed over 66 000 visitors from August 30 to October 15, including nearly 9000 from school groups. The emblematic event of the Montreal cultural season continues to be a success, having won its bet to reduce the peaks in attendance that have prevailed in recent years.<\/p>\n

“By extending the exhibition by 2 weeks this year, in addition to redesigning part of the itinerary, we were able to spread out the traffic and significantly improve the visitor experience. Another positive factor is that school groups and tourists have never been so numerous,” points out Yann Fortier, General Manager of the Montreal event.<\/p>\n

The World Press Photo Montreal exhibition\u00a0presented the 126 winning photos and series from the world’s most prestigious photojournalism competition, as well as six complementay exhibitions: Elsewhere\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>by Magalie L\u00e9pine-Blondeau, Reading Between the Lines<\/strong><\/em> by La Fondation pour l\u2019Alphab\u00e9tisation, At the Heart of the Abyss<\/strong><\/em>, finalists for the FPJQ Antoine Desilets award<\/strong><\/em>, D\u00e9crypteurs: the underbelly of misinformation<\/strong><\/em> by Radio-Canada and Capturing the Moment<\/strong><\/em> by La Presse.<\/p>\n

Towards the 17th edition, August 28 to October 14, 2024<\/strong>
\nThe World Press Photo Montreal exhibition\u2019s team is already working on the 17th edition of this major international exhibition, often compared to the Oscars of photography. The event will be presented in Montreal, from August 28 to October 14, 2024<\/strong>, at the Bonsecours Market in Old Montreal.<\/p>\n

World Press Photo Montreal exhibition\u2019s team is thankful for its visitors, partners, and guests of honor: actress Magalie L\u00e9pine-Blondeau<\/strong>, spokesperson for the 2023 edition; award-winning photographer Jonathan Fontaine<\/strong> (France); Marika Cuckrowski<\/strong> (Netherlands), Exhibition Director of the World Press Photo Foundation. All were in Montreal during the first week of the event.<\/p>\n
