Montreal, Wednesday, August 7, 2024 <\/strong>– The World Press Photo Montr\u00e9al Exhibition <\/strong>team unveils the content of new exhibitions presented for the first time from August 28 to October 14<\/strong> in the mezzanine space of the Bonsecours Market<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The exhibition Agence Stock Photo, notre monde<\/em><\/strong> en images<\/strong><\/em> features a series of large-format photos recounting some of the key events of the last 40 years in Quebec. Funky, l’univers de F\u00e9lix Renaud<\/em><\/strong>celebrates the short but prolific career of the colorful Montreal photographer. These two new exhibitions complement those devoted to World Press Photo, Charles-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rick Ouellet and the Prix Antoine-Desilets (FPJQ).<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Agence Stock Photo, notre monde en images<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Founded in 1987 by photographers Robert Fr\u00e9chette, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois LeBlanc and Martin Roy, Agence Stock Photo<\/strong> is the first independent agency in Quebec. For almost 40 years, photographers such as Benoit Aquin, Josu\u00e9 Bertolino, Normand Blouin, Horacio Paone, Laurent Gu\u00e9rin and Sophie Bertrand have captured many of Quebec’s defining moments and events.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

These include the 1995 referendum, the ice storm, the Maple Spring, the Saint-Amable fire and the Stanley Cup riot. Added to this are several portraits of iconic personalities and photos from Caroline Hayeur’s Rituel festif<\/em> project, documenting the Montreal rave scene of the 1990s. The exhibition coincides with the August publication of Agence Stock Photo – Une histoire du photojournalisme au Qu\u00e9bec<\/em><\/strong> by Les \u00e9ditions du passage.<\/p>\n

Funky, l\u2019univers de F\u00e9lix Renaud<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

F\u00e9lix Renaud was renowned for his colorful portraits and cinematic universes. This exhibition offers a sample of the prolific and recent photographic decade of the late photographer and retoucher who passed away last February.<\/p>\n

His eye brightened the cultural panorama of Quebec with his photos of artists and personal projects which comingle in thisexhibition celebrating his life, co-produced by Shoot Studio, Urbania and the Expo World Press Photo Montr\u00e9al team.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Two other related exhibitions<\/strong><\/p>\n

As partners in the exhibition, Radio-Canada and La Presse offer complementary and relevant content to visitors every year.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>D\u00e9crypteurs: the underside of misinformation<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

How can one tell what’s true from what’s false when surfing the Internet? What are the different types of fake news? Can the eye deceive the public in front of a fake photo, or is it easy to spot if it’s been manipulated? Visitors will find out thanks to the exhibition D\u00e9crypteurs<\/em> from Radio-Canada, featuring the work of Alexis De Lancer, Marie-Pier Elie, Jeff Yates and Nicholas De Rosa.<\/p>\n

Every day, La Presse publishes striking images that stand out for their aesthetics, their social impact, but above all, for their ability to evoke emotion. Some of the moving and powerful moments captured by La Presse photographers in 2023 will be on display exclusively at March\u00e9 Bonsecours.<\/p>\n
