The World Press Photo Montreal Expo<\/strong> team is pleased to announce the presence in Montreal of two World Press Photo 2024 award-winning photographers, Zied Ben Romdhane and Charles-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rick Ouellet<\/strong>, who will be in attendance at the event, held from August 28 to October 14 at March\u00e9 Bonsecours.<\/p>\n

A Tunisian photographer who splits his time between Montreal and Tunis, Zied Ben Romdhane<\/strong> explores the socio-political disparities between Tunisia’s inland and coastal regions. His award-winning series, L’\u00c9vasion<\/em><\/strong>, takes us into the heart of Tunisian youth, in the context of the years following the Arab Spring (2011). This period gave hope to a people in search of democracy, social justice and freedom of expression.<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago, the World Press Photo Montr\u00e9al team announced the premiere of the Force majeure<\/b>exhibition, featuring a series of large-format images shot by Quebec photographer Charles-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rick Ouellet.\u202fThese black-and-white photos offer a unique look at the forest fires that ravaged several Quebec regions in the summer of 2023. These complementary images to his winning photo will be presented in large format, on the Espace mezzanine of the March\u00e9 Bonsecours. Charles-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rick Ouellet<\/b> is the first Quebec photographer to receive this award since Roger Lemoyne 25 years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
